I was blown away by Brilliant and Heartbroken. Kathleen’s courage shines through her story, from the traumatic health challenges she faced as an infant to the unimaginable fear and inhumane treatment she endured at the orphanage. Yet through it all, she not only found hope and resilience for herself but also shares her strength in a way that inspires and uplifts everyone who reads her story.
The author uses powerful prose to describe the incredible survival experience when the odds are against her. This educational and engaging story holds the reader’s attention and informs them of the history of medicine and the complex parent-child relationship. A powerful book that is hard to forget.
I have never met Kathleen but I feel like she is close to my heart after reading about what she went through it had a profound effect on my life. Normal day to day tasks that used to feel hard don’t feel so bad anymore; like going to the gym, or going into work. I feel like every reader can gain something out of this beautiful peace of art and apply it to their day to day life. 5/5 stars definitely a MUST READ.
A testament to the indomitable human spirit and it’s ability to overcome extreme physical and emotional ordeals, this book is a must read. Kathleen Seaver’s life story is one that every reader will be inspired by. I highly recommend it! Five stars all the way.
